How to Care for a Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) | Easy Air Purifying Houseplant

Watering Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) | Easy Air Purifying Houseplant

The Spider Plant prefers an even, but not soaking wet, soil. Water approximately every one to two weeks, allowing the top layer of soil to dry slightly before watering again. Preferably use lukewarm water to avoid root shock. An Elho 1.5 L watering can allows you to precisely control the amount of water, ensuring the pot doesn't stay wet for too long.

Light requirements for Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) | Easy Air Purifying Houseplant

Spider plants thrive in a spot with bright, indirect light. Too much sunlight can burn the leaves, while too little light can stunt growth. A spot near an east- or west-facing window is ideal. You can also place the Spider plant in a semi-shaded area, as in our shade-loving plants collection.

Common Problems with Spider Plants (Chlorophytum comosum) | Easy Air-Purifying Houseplant

Yellow leaves

Yellow leaves on your Spider Plant often indicate overwatering or temporary stress after transport. Reduce watering and remove the yellowed leaves to allow new growth to develop. Check that the potting hole isn't clogged, as poor drainage can cause root rot. Read more about what to do about root rot .

Plant dripping or leaking water

If water constantly remains under the pot, it can trap moisture around the roots and cause problems. Use a decorative pot with a saucer underneath, or use a pot with a drainage hole and place some LECA hydro grains – clay pebbles – underneath. These granules help drain excess water and slowly moisten the plant.

Pests and vermin

Spider mites and thrips are the most common pests affecting Spider Plants. Regularly inspect the undersides of leaves and, at the first sign of an infestation, use sticky traps for fungus gnats or a mild plant soap solution. Also, maintain adequate humidity to discourage pests. For additional tips, read our guide on 5 tips for increasing humidity .

Roots appearing at the bottom of the pot

When you see roots emerging from the bottom of the pot, it's time to repot your Spider Plant. A pot 2 cm wider than the current one is sufficient. Fill the new pot with fresh potting soil and carefully remove some of the old soil around the roots. For the right mix, use potting soil from our Potting Soil and Accessories collection.

Brown leaf edges

Brown edges usually indicate air that is too dry or insufficient water. Slightly increase watering frequency and place the plant on a saucer with moisture-retaining hydro grains. If necessary, use a plant mister to increase the humidity around the plant. Avoid direct contact with radiators or heater fumes.

Various types of Chlorophytum

  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Vittatum'
  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum'
  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Aureum'
  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Bonnie'
  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Ocean'
  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Fire Flash'
  • Chlorophytum comosum 'Green Orange'

These varieties differ in leaf pattern and color, but all require the same simple care. This way, you can always choose the ideal Spider Plant for your style and lighting situation.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

ABSOLUTELY A MUST for Omegaverse Girls!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jillian West and her books!!! I’m so happy I already bought book two and now I have to buy the others for the Assurance Security series!! Not gonna lie Val kind of annoyed me at the beginning but she grew on me!! Her men are chef’s kisses!!! Holt annoys me some but I can let it slide. I already bought part two so I’m going to be reading that in between work phone calls!!!! DON’T TELL MY BOSS 😂😂😂😂

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.
