Senecio jacobsenii ‘Trailing Jade’ Variegata is a rare and eye-catching variegated cultivar of Senecio jacobsenii, a trailing succulent native to the mountainous regions of Kenya and Tanzania. Belonging to the Asteraceae family, this cultivar is prized for its colourful, cascading foliage and vigorous spreading habit, making it particularly suited to hanging baskets, vertical gardens, or as a striking spiller in mixed succulent arrangements.

The fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves grow in overlapping rows along long, trailing stems. Each leaf displays a marbled mix of creamy white, lime green, and emerald tones, with cooler temperatures often inducing a stunning violet or reddish blush, especially at the edges. This seasonal colour shift adds to its ornamental value, creating an ever-changing display throughout the year.

While it closely resembles the unrelated Crassula ovata (commonly called Jade Plant), Senecio jacobsenii is distinguishable by its growth pattern and leaf texture. Mature stems may reach several metres in length over time, although the plant itself remains low-growing, generally around 10 cm tall and spreading to 20 cm or more before trailing downwards.

In optimal conditions, it will produce clusters of bright orange, daisy-like blooms typical of its botanical family. These flowers often emerge in late summer to autumn. It thrives in bright, indirect light and well-draining soil, with minimal watering required—perfect for drought-tolerant gardens or low-maintenance indoor settings. Protect from heavy frost, as it prefers mild to warm climates similar to many regions across Australia.

Beautifully written and good quality book
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I received the book earlier than the estimated date. I love this poem collection of Ilya Kaminsky. Although it describes the social unrest in an unknown place (and unfamiliar to me), his poems are beautifully written with strong images and music. THe paper quality and the book are so new and lovely. I couldn't think that it is used (as it stated).

Life: A challenge in many ways in all cultures
Format: Kindle
I heard Ilya Kaminsky read his poems at Chautauqua this past summer. Over powering and dynamic to hear his voice speak his words... about his life experiences need to be remembered. A must read and if possible with the audio.

A brilliant poetic narrative whose lines leap off the pages which turn themselves.
Format: Paperback
When you get to the end, you wonder how Kaminsky worked his wondrous magic, how it's possible to think and write poetry like that. The poem is a story about Vasenka, a mythical town somewhere in the Ukraine, occupied by the Soviet army during an unspecified period of time. It is an allegory of the cruelty of occupation, the futility of the resistance of a few, and the deafness of the silent majority, a deafness that courageously resists the occupation and a deafness that hardens the heart and ignores the evil surrounding them. It could have happened anywhere anytime. The occupiers could have been Nazis, Ottoman Turks, American, English, or Spanish. The poetry is piercingly sharp, visionary, breathless and the metaphors are the likes of which you've never heard before, lines like “the sound we do not hear lifts the gulls off the water,” “Our hearing doesn't weaken, but something silent in us strengthens,” or “In these avenues, deafness is our only barricade.” This is drop-dead beautiful poetry.

Haunting Humanity lurks in war’s reactions.
Format: Kindle
The poem moves efficiently through the myriad experiences that result from deadly conflict with a nameless and menacing enemy. I kept thinking I was reading a rendering of Kafka with the haunting glimpses of the horror of permanent victim hood. Now I must study the Deaf Republic and hope for understanding.

Beautifully written.
Format: Paperback
I read this book in one sitting and discovered that tears are included with purchase. Story is broken up into acts, like a play, and is told completely in verse. Sign language images accompany several of the poems.
