10 x Tillandsia Air Plants

Tillandsia air plants are small bromeliads grown outside traditional potting soil. This set includes ten mixed Tillandsia plants, giving you a varied group of living rosettes for cork, wood, ceramic holders, wire frames, open bowls or mounted arrangements.

The roots mainly anchor the plant, while the leaves handle moisture uptake through fine surface trichomes. Depending on the mix, the plants may show green, silver-grey, curled, upright or tufted growth, with each rosette adding a different shape, texture and size to the group.

What this Tillandsia set includes

  • Set size: Ten mixed Tillandsia air plants.
  • Growth habit: Soil-free bromeliads with compact rosettes or tufted leaf clusters.
  • Leaf texture: Green to silver-grey leaves, often with a softly scaled surface.
  • Display options: Suitable for cork, wood, stone, ceramic holders, wire frames and open bowls.
  • Growth cycle: Mature rosettes may colour, flower and later produce offsets.

How Tillandsia air plants grow

Tillandsia belongs to Bromeliaceae, the pineapple family. Many species grow as epiphytes on branches or trunks, while others attach to rock surfaces. Their leaves carry specialised trichomes that absorb moisture from rain, mist and brief wetting, so fast drying and airflow are central to their care.

Mixed Tillandsia sets can include plants with different leaf density and moisture needs. Silver, heavily scaled forms usually tolerate brighter and drier positions, while greener forms generally prefer slightly steadier watering intervals. Keep all plants in open air with space around the crown and leaf bases.

Tillandsia air plant care

  • Light: Place in bright, filtered light close to a window. Strong midday sun behind glass can scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Soak in rainwater or low-mineral water for 15–30 minutes, then shake out water from the rosette.
  • Drying: Let each plant dry upside down or on its side before returning it to a holder or arrangement.
  • Watering interval: Soak more often in warm, bright rooms. Reduce watering in cooler rooms where the plants dry slowly.
  • Airflow: Keep the plants in an open, ventilated position so moisture clears from the leaf bases.
  • Temperature: Keep above 12 °C and protect from cold windowsills during winter nights.
  • Mounting: Use cork, wood, stone, ceramic or wire frames. Keep damp moss or wet decorative material away from the crown.
  • Feeding: Add a very dilute bromeliad or orchid fertiliser to the soak water occasionally during active growth.
  • Flowering: A mature rosette may bloom once, often with stronger colour near the centre, then produce young side shoots.
  • Propagation: Leave offsets attached for a fuller clump or separate them once they reach around one third of the parent rosette’s size.

Issues to watch in mixed Tillandsia sets

  • Soft base or loose centre: Water has usually stayed trapped in the rosette. Extend drying time and improve airflow after soaking.
  • Crisp leaf tips: Dry heat, missed watering or intense light are common causes. Check how often the plant is soaked and where it is kept.
  • Pale scorched patches: Direct sun through glass can burn the leaves. Move the plants to bright filtered light.
  • Tightly curled, dull leaves: The plant may be dehydrated. Soak, dry fully and adjust the interval between waterings.

Display notes for the ten-plant set

Ten plants create a mixed rosette group while leaving each plant enough space to dry properly. Leave space between plants, especially after watering, so each rosette has enough airflow around the crown and leaf bases.

Tillandsia safety notes

Keep small Tillandsia away from pets and children that may chew or swallow them.

Tillandsia name and natural range

Tillandsia L. is a genus in Bromeliaceae with a native range across tropical and subtropical America. The genus name honours Elias Tillandz, a Swedish-Finnish physician and botanist. This mixed Tillandsia set brings together plants selected for varied rosette shapes, leaf textures and sizes.

The ten mixed rosettes can be arranged on cork, wood, ceramic holders, wire frames or open bowls.

Epic. Works great.
Color: Black
Works great every day. Super powerful and smooth compared to my old battery powered one. The shaft is much thicker and is more securely positioned so I can't imagine it becoming tweaked off balance like my old one. And it comes with an extra mixer attachment! I imagine I've put that away for a long time, but we'll see. Easy to turn on and off with one hand, but I can imagine it being less easy than a simple push button for someone with decreased thumb dexterity or mobility. I do wish the lowest speed was slightly lower, but it hasn't caused any splashing or other detriment. The speed adjustment is very smooth and power is abundant. Love the stand, Usb c charge port is solid, battery life is excellent.

You want this one, for power and quality and saving on AA battery costs
Color: Black
Yes. You want this one, for power and quality and saving on AA battery costs — buy it now. Don’t waste any more time comparing products. After hours, days, weeks, of researching and comparing, I ordered this one. I do not regret it. It is powerful. It was less than $25 when I bought it. It has a USB charger port and it feels solid in your hand. It has a turn-knob at the top to control the variable speed immersion blender aka milk frother aka wand frother. Charge battery fully for 2hrs before first use and then you’re all set. It works very well. It functioned as expected and then even better. Yes. It exceeded expectations. I hope it lasts a long time. It feels like it is very well made and high quality. Classiest and best wand frother I have ever owned. And I’ve owned over 3-4 in the past 10yrs. I got this one at $25 instead of the highest-rated one for $9.99 because those require AA batteries and this frother however is USB-C rechargeable! So in 1-2 years it will have paid for itself in battery costs alone. But there’s no price I can put on how enjoyable it is to use this super powerful, super smooth, high quality, wand frother.

Quality Design
Color: Gray
Excellent frother/mixer Pros: - Quality feels premium. - Plenty of power to mix even with a drink packed with ice and peanut butter. Basically a mini handheld mixer. - Ease of use is great. I appreciated that this had a longer brother so I can mix drinks in taller cups. Also the grip is fantastic and it is easy very easy to change the speed with just one hand so you can hold the drink with the other. Longevity - So far it's been holding up and hasn't needed a battery replacement. Cons: None so far.

Highly recommend!
Color: Gray
Love this frother!!! Purchased to replace an Aerolatte that stopped working after a reasonable period of use. Right out of the box, it was charged and ready to go. I’ve been using it daily for about 5 weeks on the same charge it had on arrival and it’s still going strong. Love the variable speed and easy to work with one hand. And this baby can froth! It froths far better than our old Aerolatte. Also love the rechargeable feature so no more AA batteries wasted. This handy kitchen tool makes my morning coffee a true highlight. Highly recommend the Maestri milk frother!

Best Frother Ever!
Color: Black
Great little frother and very powerful after just one charge. I haven’t charged it since the first day and it is still going strong after 3 weeks. I use it daily for coffee froth, but have used it for mixing other things as well. It works great on mixing drink powders into water and for making salad dressing from scratch. It’s one of the best things I’ve purchased on Amazon for kitchen tools. My old frother ate through batteries and was 1/10th as powerful. This one really is amazing. Great quality heavy duty but still small machine. Extra attachment heads are also a bonus.
