  • Botanical Name: Philodendron erubescens 'pink princess'
  • Common Names: Pink Princess
  • Description: Apart from the splendid pink and dark green leaves, the plant is identified by large waxy leaves. These leaves can grow up to 9” long and 5” wide. The pinkness on the leaves is due to a lack of chlorophyll—the chemical that makes plants’ leaves green. However, some greenness on the leaves is also necessary so that the plants can photosynthesize.
  • Important notice: The plant you received may have less pink than the plant pictured; however, as the plant matures you'll see more pink variegation.

The Philodendron Pink Princess is a rare and sought-after indoor plant, known for its lush green leaves speckled with an alluring shade of pink. Originating from South America, this unique variety of Philodendron erubescens is a must-have for plant enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Why are Pink Princess Philodendrons so expensive? The demand for this show-stopping plant has skyrocketed, making Pink Princess Philodendrons hard to come by and contributing to their high cost. Large Pink Princess Philodendrons are the perfect addition to any room, just be prepared to spend a little extra for these magnificent specimens.

Whether you're in the market to buy a Pink Princess Philodendron plant or Pink Princess Philodendron seeds, you're sure to fall in love with this captivating species. Philodendron Pink Princess vs Pink Congo The Pink Princess is often compared to the Pink Congo, another stunning variety of Philodendron. However, the Pink Princess is characterized by its more pronounced pink speckling, while the Pink Congo has more of a pink tint to its leaves, which is debated to be synthetically injected with pink ink. Buyers may want to be extra cautious when purchasing a Philodendron Pink Princess disguised as a fake Pink Congo.

Philodendron Pink Princess Care

Watering

Ensure that the soil stays moist but not waterlogged. Let the soil dry slightly in between watering. Water your Philodendron Pink Princess every 3 - 7 days or when the top 2 - 3" of the top soil is dry.

Sunlight

This plant thrives in bright, indirect light and is best suited for west-facing windows. However, be sure not to place the Philodendron Pink Princess too close to the window or in direct sunlight as it might burn the pink foliage on its leaves. The higher the variegation of pink leaves, the easier it is for the leaves to be burnt by sunlight.

Temperature

The Pink Princess prefers warm temperatures between 60°F and 75°F.

Humidity

High humidity levels are ideal for the Philodendron Pink Princess.

Toxicity

The Philodendron Pink Princess is a toxic to cats, dogs and children, potentially deadly plant that can cause dermatitis and stomach upsets to those who come into contact with it. If your cats or dogs like to chew on plants, keep your Philodendron away from them because it is poisonous if they ingest the leaves.

Fertilizer

During the growing season, feed your Pink Princess once a month with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Fertilizer is not required from November to March.

Growth Rate

This plant grows at a moderate pace, reaching a maximum height of 5-7 feet indoors with proper support.

Pruning

When growing vertically like this type of vine does naturally - remember that it's best not too cut back on growth at all! Just make sure any dead leaves get removed so they don't cause clutter inside your container/hanging planter. If it is preferred to keep Tradescantia on its shorter side then regular pinching will be necessary for healthy growth and preventing long vines from developing!

Propagation

Propagating is a cost-effective way to grow more of these enchanting plants. You can propagate your Pink Princess through stem cuttings, either rooting in water or soil. Learning how to grow your Pink Princess is a doable task. You can purchase a Pink Princess Philodendron plant or Pink Princess Philodendron seeds, or even a Pink Princess Philodendron cutting tool online.

Soil Mix

Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with good drainage holes.

Repotting

Repot your plant in the spring when it becomes root-bound.

Common Pests

The Pink Princess is prone to spider mites, mealybugs, and scale insects. To treat these pests, use a solution of insecticidal soap and water.

Dachshund said “did I hear indestructible‽ Hold my ball”
Color: Grey Bear - Large
My 15lb Dachshund took this toy as a personal challenge. He heard me tell his human brother that it’s indestructible on the inside and said “hold my ball” promptly proceeding to schmurder the textile aspect of this adorable toy. I’d say it took him a total of 23 1/2 minutes to get to the center of this tootsie pop. I’m not even mad tho bc he had no interest in actually ingesting the outer part, and is totally into the inner toy, which is, for him, literally indestructible. It’s solid rubber, has a wild and fun bounce to it on multiple surfaces. Zodiac rates the squeak 10/10. It’s great especially for when I’m on a call or talking to someone in real life and can’t immediately throw said toy or pay complete attention to him. In conclusion: Your dog will probably love it, ((suggest to just keep an eye on them during the schmurder process and make sure you grab all the pieces that come off so none are swallowed)) Depending on your tolerance for squeaker pitch and frequency of squeak, it's a 4/10 in annoyance mostly bc it’s not a long drawn out squeak ((I can not tolerate those toys, they get “lost on top on my fridge” until I get up the courage to throw them out without him seeing)), it’s quick and requires a bit of effort to produce the sound however it’s a very high pitch squeak so it’s all up to your preference. I personally try to buy toys I can tolerate my dog loving on bc when he gets a new toy, it’s his favorite thing for a long time, like, it sleeps on the bed with us for the first month. Hope your fur child loves this as much as mine did. Not sure I’ll do the whole two in one toy thing again only he got through it so fast.

LOVE BARK TOYS!!!
Color: Rad Herring - Medium
I got this toy for my 1yr old Husky/Heeler/(possibly)GSD (approx 42lbs) mix when she came to our home mid/late October of 2025 and the toy lasted until December 3rd 2025 when we had to assist her with opening the fabric to get the toy on the inside. It was a great fun toy for her and the inside toys still is and she loves playing with it. The durability of both the outside and inside toys are great for super chewers! I was glad there was no stuffing because I had gotten her a plush toy once before and she destroyed that immediately. The fabric on this was durable enough to withstand her chewing yet soft enough that it didn’t hurt her teeth. The colors were vibrant and fun for both toys even though wear and tear kinda took some of the fabric color away. I would definitely buy this again once the inside toy is no longer safe for her, especially since the size was perfect for her too.

Good ball for strong chewers
Color: Cheeze Brawl - Large, Color: Cheeze Brawl - Large
My dog loves this ball except the outside fur gets gross really quickly. However, it’s easy to cutoff and underneath is a strong squeaky ball. It’s like two gifts in one. He’s a very heavy chewer and the ball lasts quite a bit.

Take the skin off and get the right size for your dog’s weight!
Color: Panda Bear - Large, Color: Panda Bear - Large
This review is specifically for the panda toy. My dog is a super chewer and will literally go through any normal toy, even the ones labeled for aggressive chewers, within a few hours at most. He’s about to be 10 years old and this is the first time he’s ever had a toy that lasted as long as it has. I wanna mention the outer layer he almost immediately chewed through. To me, it wasn’t worth the fear of him dealing through pieces so I just took the whole “skin” off. However, he’s safely had this for 2 months with no issues and heavy daily chewing until he finally broke it apart. So if you have a super chewer, make sure to get the size appropriate for your dog’s weight and take the “skin” off and you’re left with a quality toy that will stick around! Pictured is a set of 2 new toys of the same variety since he finally chewed through his last batch lol
